Defrag is a cozy file-sorting game set in 2004. You've just taken over Dad's little PC repair shop. Clients bring in their wrecked computers, and you tidy every file into its proper home: photos by month, recipes by course, invoices by customer, all inside OpalOS, a make-believe early-2000s desktop.

IN THE DEMO

- A short practice job on Dad's own shop PC

- Three PCs to sort: Mrs. Okafor's 1999 beige tower, Danny's 2002 gaming PC and Kessler Plumbing's office PC, each split into a couple of drives

- Three rescue jobs: save a client's precious files from a failing disk before it dies

- A toolkit shelf: spend your pay on tools that make the next job faster

- A defrag finale on every PC, and a small mystery: who made the floppy disks labelled "LH"?

CONTROLS

Mouse. Drag files into folders, hover over a file to read its details. Volume, resolution and text size are in Settings.

HOW TO PLAY

Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Unzip the folder and run Defrag.exe. Your progress saves automatically after every drive and job.

Windows may say the app is from an unknown publisher. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". That's normal for small games without a paid signing certificate.

Defrag is still in development, so feedback is very welcome in the comments!

had some issues with things not being selected when clicked and some sound duplication but other than that this was wonderful!
i love all the recurring people and programs, it really feels like a little connected world, even if most of it is only text
